Sr Advisor, Product Management (Competitive Intelligence)

Job Description:
Our Dell EMC product management team drives direction and coverage of the Data Protection and Availability Division competition. In this key role you will analyze assigned competitive offerings and companies with a focus on how to create opportunities against those competitors exploiting weaknesses, develop competitive collateral for the field with an eye towards field enablement, provide competitive guidance for product management, and assist with helping DPD develop sound strategies with an awareness on competitive offerings.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage multiple competitors and products with little direct supervision. Gain an understanding of the competition at both a business and product level. Shape and champion messaging enabling the Dell EMC field (sales), engineering, marketing, and product management to understand the competitive offerings.
Provide prescriptive guidance for successful sales engagement resulting in wins. Gathers and analyzes competitive data from a variety of sources including sales, analysts, social media, industry luminaries and industry events.
Analyze adjacent markets and emerging technologies/trends in relationship to EMC and the storage ecosystem at large. Assist product management with input for product requirements providing competitive information, pricing, etc., and review requirements for competitive accuracy.
Other duties include:
+ Drive the development of competitive content to improve sales win ratios and reduce sales cycle times.
+ Collaborate cross functionally with product manager, technical marketing, engineering, and field specialists to proactively address competitive issues.
+ Provide business analysis and internal responses to competitive announcements.
+ Server as a focal point within the company for competitive requests in support of sales, xBU, and executives.
+ Maintain and improve web-based competitive content and competitive responses, working cross-functionally with subject matter experts.
+ Timely creation and updates of competitive material for consumption ? if a Tier-1 competitor, ensure information is updated within 48 hours.
+ Utilize business analytics tools to analyze and provide statistical insights into the competition.
+ Create and deliver competitive content for ?bootcamps? held at various locations across the world.
+ Attend various tradeshows and conferences (of competitors) to gain insight into product roadmaps, customer sentiment, etc.
Requirements for the role:
+ BS technical degree + 8+ years of applicable experience; MS technical degree + 6+ years of applicable experience; PhD + 3+ years applicable experience

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
