Key Responsibilities
This position pertains to the research and development of metal finishing, namely in the area of non-chrome coatings for metallic substrates. Ability to manage projects in the areas of new coating development and existing product support, execute experimental designs using statistical analysis, and maintain a safe working environment is expected. Tasks will include the formulation of products in order to meet customer requirements, as well as direct interaction with customers during testing and trials.
The candidate is responsible for acquiring knowledge through interaction with other personnel in laboratory. Review of technical literature and attend quality, safety and technical seminars which increase his or her knowledge. Provides technical guidance as appropriate.
Candidate has the responsibility to:
Define scope of testing, timeline, and expected reporting methodology with the requesting internal and/or external customer.
Conduct literary reviews of relevant testing, specifications, experimentation, characterization, and additional relevant technical information to develop test plans.
Develop, evaluate, and/or incorporate proposals to test appropriate competitive or comparable products or new test methods based on literary review, market requirements, and/or test results.
Determine appropriate test methods, requirement, equipment, analysis, etc based on test plan.
Independently conduct and monitor testing for concurrent projects.
Apply extensive knowledge of industry standard specifications, practices, and materials science in the evaluation and reporting of results.
Assist in establishing key process control parameters and controls (equipment set-up, settings, proper use, cleaning, product & process highlights and details pertinent to performance success)
Report results using a standardized format to the requestor, R&T technical team, and during Quality Management Review and Project Review Meetings.
Significant testing results could be reviewed for presentation to the relevant technical community and/or publishing in technical literature.
Experience and Education
Must have BS in chemistry or related discipline and at least 3 years of experience in laboratory work
Functional and Technical Skills
Must have a strong background in Inorganic Chemistry, Statistical Design and Analysis, and general laboratory skills. Must be able to quickly grasp new technology and have good interpersonal skills in working with technical and non-technical personnel. Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
