Anatomic Pathology Technician ( Per Diem - Day )
Providence is calling a Per Diem, Day shift Anatomic Pathology Technician to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA.
In this position you will:
Process specimen by preparing frozen sections, including cuts, stains, mounts, specimens of human tissue to provide intra-operative consultation specimens for data on functioning of tissues and organs, causes and/or progress of disease, following established standards and practices.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Academic and/or working knowledge of human anatomy and medical terminology.
Ability to multi-task and work in fast paced environment.
Color vision: ability to distinguish and identify different colors.
Exposed to hazardous and carcinogenic chemicals
Exposed to infection from disease-bearing specimens
Exposed to odorous chemicals and specimens
Subject to cuts from microtome knives.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
3 years Pathology experience, indirect specimen grossing, frozen sections.
High School graduate or equivalent
