SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Assistant Editor is responsible for media asset management, transcoding and editorial workflows for the Worldwide Television Marketing Department.
The Assistant Editor ingests media and output for multiple departments, including Servicing, On Air Editorial, Social Media, Publicity, Post Ops, and more.
Editorial duties include project preparation, string-outs, assembly, restores, cleanprints, basic editing, and QC of master files (clip reels, cut downs, etc.
).
This role also supports live production and videography workflows as needed.
JOB QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
o Minimum 5 years in post-production editorial environment.
o Minimum 3 years as assistant editor in Avid environment.
o Previous entertainment industry experience required.
o Experience in content marketing a plus.
Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certificationo BA/BS Degree or other comparable training required.
Knowledge/Skillso Experience in fast-paced post-production environment with multiple editors, producers, andstakeholders, working under tight deadlines.
o Extensive hands-on experience with Avid Isis, Avid Interplay & Avid Media Composer in anoffline/online environment including a basic understanding of troubleshooting procedures.
o Must be experienced using Media Asset Management (MAM) systems.
o Deep understanding of industry best practices for tiered storage management and archive usingLTO and cloud storage (AWS and MS Azure) in a post-production environment.
o Experience with SGL and/or Masstech LTO archive softwareo Understanding of Filemaker Pro, Reach Engine, MOG, Avid Protools, Telestream Vantage, DaVinciResolve.
o Experience with creating, adhering to, and enforcing delivery specs including the ability to use awaveform monitor/vectorscope for picture and standard metering tools in Avid for audio.
o Participated in creation, testing and execution of workflow changes with many stakeholders.
Worldwide Television MarketingContent Operations, Post Operation, Assistant Editor (Temp)o Knowledge of DCPs, Digests and KDMs for screenings.
o Must be highly productive and maintain a high standard of technical quality in accordance withbroadcast standards.
o Strong project management skills and proven ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasksand execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
o Knowledge of advertising and promotional terminology and procedures, including, but not limitedto, image formats, graphics, logos, etc.

) and written (synopses, log lines, running orders, factsheets, etc.
) material.
o Must have extensive knowledge in all video resolutions, formats, and codecs.

o Creation and prep of EDLs, AAFs, XMLs for finishing.
