BIG PICTURE:
The Head of Operations will play a critical role in driving the operational efficiency and effectiveness of our production company.
As a strategic partner to the Director of Operations and other senior leaders, the Head of Operations will be responsible for optimizing internal processes, implementing best practices, and ensuring the smooth execution of production activities.
This is a leadership position that requires a blend of creative thinking, business acumen, and operational expertise to achieve our company's goals.
The ideal individual will be strong at fostering effective communication and collaboration across all departments, ensuring alignment and synergy among various teams, including production, finance, human resources, and marketing.
HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME:
Developing and implementing operational strategies to achieve production company objectives while driving growth Collaborating with the Director of Ops and other executives to define and execute the company's vision and long-term strategic plans Providing leadership and guidance to department heads, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture Streamlining and optimizing production processes, workflows, and resource allocation to maximize efficiency and productivity Monitoring industry trends, technological advancements, and market dynamics to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
Overseeing the planning, scheduling, and execution of all production activities, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards Collaborating closely with the production team to align resources, budgets, and timelines with creative objectives Managing production team members, ensuring they complete productions on time, to a high quality and resolving any issues that come up on set Ensuring there's contingency plans for all things that can go wrong during a production, including having back up crew members ready to go Implementing effective project management methodologies and tools to track progress, identify risks, and mitigate issues throughout the production lifecycle Managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms for production-related services and equipment.
Working closely with the CEO to develop and manage the production company's annual budget, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded Analyzing financial data, production costs, and revenue projections to identify areas of improvement and cost-saving opportunities WHAT YOU HAVE:
A minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership role within the entertainment industry, ideally within a production company Strong understanding of film and television production processes, including pre-production, production, and post-production workflows Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and revenue optimization Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in industry-specific software and project management tools WHO OVERSEES YOU:
