Job Description


Pay Rate:
$30.00 to $40.00 Per Hour.

Position Purpose:


Implementing the Pretreatment Program:
performing inspections, collecting samples of process wastewater, preparing Permit Fact Sheets, drafting formal compliance documents, conducting informal compliance activity, and maintaining the IRSCP data management system.


Primary Duties/
Responsibilities:


  • Conduct a complete pretreatment inspection (review file, determine necessary tasks, assemble equipment, transport self and equipment safely to site, interact with site personnel, identify violations of code/control mechanism, collect sample, document activity, explain record of activity to contact and resultant obligations, schedule and conduct follow up activity, deliver evidence to lab and data repository, and update data management system).
  • Produce an appropriate control mechanism (deliver a permit application, assist contact in completing application, review completed applications, conduct permit inspection to collect data not provided on application necessary to prepare fact sheet, compare collect data to regulatory standards, prepare Permit Fact Sheet, deliver and explain requirements of control mechanism to site personnel, and update data management system).
  • Conduct compliance activity (identify, investigate, and document violations, implement Enforcement Response Plan, schedule and conduct appropriate follow up activity, and update data management system).
  • Collect surveillance samples from the collection system.
  • Evaluate self monitoring reports for compliance with code and control mechanisms.

Qualifications


Education/Experience/Background:


  • High School diploma/GED required. (Contract w/Burbank requires A.A. degree in science.)
  • This Entry Level position requires a minimum of one year (or equivalent training/certification) experience. Contract w/Burbank specifies 3 years of experience.)


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:


  • Computer Skills :
    Word processing, spreadsheets, database, and e-mail.
  • Superior communication skill, both verbally and in writing.
  • Superior reading skills.
  • Negotiating

Required Certification/Licenses/Training:


  • A Driver's License is required.
  • CWEA TCP Environmental Compliance Inspection certification is highly desirable.

Physical Requirements:


  • Incumbents walk, stand, climb stairs, and sit.
  • Incumbents must be able to lift and carry 35 lbs for 20 feet.
  • Incumbents exercise near and far vision.
  • Incumbents are exposed to hot, cold, odorous, noisy, dusty, dim, and moist environments.
  • Incumbents must write and type.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
