The Walt Disney Company's Corporate Legal Department is seeking a Paralegal to join the Copyright Administration Group.
The role will focus on the copyright registrations for Latin America & other international productions.
It will also have exposure to and the opportunity to work with the creative departments that produce content for Disney+, Hulu, Star, Walt Disney Pictures & Animation, Marvel, Lucas, Pixar, ABC, Hollywood Records, Disney Theatrical Productions, and others.
Responsibilities Register works for copyright and record documents of transfer with the US Copyright OfficeConsult and coordinate with The Walt Disney Company subject matter experts (e.
g.
business & legal affairs, content security, corporate affairs, piracy, operations, etc.
) to secure information, documents, and materials for copyright registration and recordation purposes Review production agreements, contracts, license agreements, and production schedules to confirm copyright ownership, chain of title, and first release dates of materials Assist litigation, antipiracy, and trademark groups with enforcement matters including but not limited to preparing reports and researching copyright issuesMaintain data integrity in the Company's Copyright & Recordation Database SystemQualificationsMinimum 3 years of significant experience as a copyright paralegal and/or paralegal experience at a reputable law firmExposure to production and licensing agreements and confirmation of chain of titleStrong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment and act as a resource to colleagues with less experienceAbility to build interdepartmental relationships at all levelsExceptional organizational, prioritization, and time management skills with the ability to work independently and accurately under deadlines and execute efficiently against multiple, diverse, high-priority, and high-volume projectsMust possess good legal judgment and the ability to work in an environment with a high degree of confidentiality and handle sensitive materials properlyStrong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office Suite, Adobe software, database software, document management software, and Internet research skillsAbility to recognize and eliminate inefficiencies and promote continuous improvementRequired EducationBA/BS degree and/or an ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate or a Paralegal by education and work experience as set forth by California Business and Profession Code, Section 6450(c)#CORP_MEDIA #LegalAffairs #twdcmediaThe hiring range for this position in California is $70,000.
00-$93,800.
00 per year based on a 40 hour work week.
The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs.
The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
Salary:
$70,000.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
